About the author Joanne Hichens has her Honours degrees in both Fine Art and Psychology, as well as a Master’s degree in Creative Writing. She has written youth literature and lives in Cape Town. Some of Joanne’s previous works include: Two stories, "The Longing" and "Sweat and Tears" on Anne Schuster’s website, www.anneschuster.co.za. "For Worse", a collection of flash fiction from women’s writing workshops, in Women Flashing, published 2005 by Women’s Writing Workshops. "Kaleidoscope" in the latest issue of ITCH magazine, published 2006 by Bell-Roberts "Four Days of Fire", under the pseudonym Joanne McAllister for the Cape Times. Stained, an unpublished youth novel was short-listed for the Sanlam Youth Literature Award in 2005. She is developing this into an adult novel.
